Originally from Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia, Carson “Kingy” King moved to Vail in November 2023, drawn by his love of snowboarding and the opportunity to experience his dad’s home country and state. He says the move was “definitely an upgrade from Australia” when it comes to snowboarding.
Carson’s restaurant journey started with his very first job scooping ice cream at Baskin-Robbins. Not long after, his best friend’s dad gave him an opportunity to work in a restaurant. Nine years later, the rest is history. Carson developed a passion for the creativity that comes with working in restaurants, especially the art of plating and taking pride in creating something that makes people happy. He completed a hospitality degree while finishing high school, building on that early experience and turning his interest in hospitality into a career.
When he’s not at work, Carson takes full advantage of life in the mountains. During the winter, you’ll most likely find him snowboarding on his days off or spending time with his wife and friends. Carson and his wife welcomed their first child in the summer of 2026. In the summer, he enjoys camping in national parks and exploring mountain back roads on his motorcycle.
