As is the case with most people who live in Eagle County, Charles came to live the ski dream adventure during a break from college, and now calls the valley his home. He believes Colorado is truly special and loves working in a place where everyone else comes to vacation. He was born in London, grew up in St. Louis, and went to college in Boston.
Being a ski instructor was his calling to the mountains and having a friend in Edwards was his connection to Vail. While looking for a second job to pair with instructing, Mountain Standard was suggested to him, and that’s where his story with us begins. Over the years he has been an all-star busser, food-runner, and server at both Mountain Standard and Sweet Basil, and in 2021 he stepped into management. Although Mountain Standard was not his first restaurant job, he fell in love with the industry while working for this company because of the team’s commitment of putting out an outstanding product and experience every single time. He loves being a part of Mountain Standard’s daily energy and excitement and working with other professionals who are dedicated to genuine hospitality.
Along with getting the job done, Charles’ effortlessly connects with staff and guests, and enjoys the interesting conversations that naturally arise in the restaurant. Charles fills his personal life with skiing, hiking, mountain biking, tennis, and watching St. Louis baseball and hockey.
