Katie Ryan Dorgan is no stranger to the food and beverage industry. With over 15 years of
experience starting as a host at 15, to server, bartender, and now growing to her current role of
General Manager of Mountain Standard, she is passionate about this industry as well as being a
leader.

Originally from Fairhope, Alabama, Katie Ryan and her husband moved to Vail for their
respective careers. She found her home at Mountain Standard in May 2022.
While her degree was originally in Marine Biology from Auburn University, she soon realized
how much she loved the vibrant culture of restaurants. When the industry drastically changed in
2020, it became clear to her that her passion for restaurants wasn't just in the experience, but in
the recruitment, management and leadership of her teams.

When asked what her hobbies are and where she can be found on her days off she states
”constantly searching for the perfect hot wing with my husband Mychal, as well as hiking,
gardening, and enjoying winter sports.” And that’s not including being a self proclaimed nerd
(her and Mr. Mychal’s dog is named after a spaceship).
