Family and community are a cornerstone for Mackenzie. When she stepped into the Human Resources Manager for Mountain Standard and Sweet Basil, it felt like coming home. With a sister that has been working for Sweet Basil for 10 years, she knew this was where she wanted to be. Mackenzie was born in California, and from the age of four, raised in Leadville, Colorado. She completed her Bachelor’s of Science at Colorado State University in Fort Collins in Human Development and Family Studies. After completing her degree she spent time in Washington and Florida before returning to Colorado. While Sweet Basil was her first official job in the food industry, with a background of working with you, specifically at-risk-youth, she has a passion for building connections and creating community.
On her days off you can find Mackenzie (affectionately called Macke by her family) with her family and friends hiking, playing soccer, rollerblading, snowboarding and playing cards.
