Chef William Bell, Chef de Partie, joined the Mountain Standard team in 2020 as a prep cook on
the raw bar line. From there he has worked his way up into his current position of CDP.
In 2019, he came to Vail from Athens, GA for the winter season but decided to stay. With a
Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, Chef William originally was planning on pursuing a career in
medicine. After taking the MCAT, he realized that it maybe wasn’t the career path he ultimately
wanted to pursue, which is when he decided to move to Vail.
And like many others that came during the winter of 2019/2020 when Covid happened, he
decided to stay through the summer season and has made Vail his home.
His culinary experience previous to joining the Mountain Standard team included Moe’s BBQ in
Vail which is where he realized how much he loved being in a kitchen. Chef William states
“being able to push myself, cooking over an open fire, and learning from the chef team has
inspired me to pursue cooking as a career.”
Outside of the kitchen you can find Chef William listening to music, collecting vinyl records,
skiing in winter, and backpacking and camping in the summer.
